I've decided to take the step into blogging about my journey with 21 Day Fix and why I started it along with why I became a coach. I am hoping to reach not only my friends with this blog, but strangers as well, so that I can share my passion with more people and possibly motivate others to join me in my new healthier lifestyle with 21 Day Fix.
WHAT IS 21 DAY FIX?
21 Day Fix is a nutrition and fitness program. It involves easy to follow portion control using six color-coded containers they give you (seven if you include teaspoons), each one corresponding to a food group. You also do a 30 minute workout every day. For beginners, there are modifications that you can follow. During 21 Day Fix, it is highly suggested to drink Shakeology as one of the replacement meals. It is jam packed full of nutrition that you cannot find in other protein or meal replacement drinks. For more information, visit my Beachbody website.
Why I Started:
My start with 21 Day Fix actually started with just looking for a way to lose this baby weight. My friend, Allison, said she was going to start the South Beach Diet after Easter, so I thought I would join along. During that time, another friend of mine, Rachel, posted about a 5 day clean eating challenge she was going to be doing on Facebook. I eventually decided that this would be a better option than the South Beach Diet because I was constantly substituting sugar with artificial sweeteners. Not only did I do the 5 Day Clean Eating Challenge, but I also ordered the sampler pack of Shakeology and looooved the chocolate, especially when I mixed it with a banana and natural peanut butter. I got through the 5 day eating challenge and did pretty well on it. I only snuck a couple of sweets here and there ANDI lost 2 pounds and that was with only light exercise (and only after 5 days)! So Rachel and I talked more, including more info on 21 Day Fix and the challenge group she was going to do for that as well. I had seen other friends post about 21 Day Fix on their social media sites and was interested in it already, so I decided to jump all in!
Why I Became a Coach:
Originally, when ordering, Rachel told me that if I became a coach, I would save 25% off my order. The best part was that because I was a military spouse I didn't have to pay any of the start up costs or pay to keep my online coach office running. So basically, sign up for free AND get 25% off? Okay! So yes, probably not the most motivating thing you wanted to hear about why I signed up to be a coach, but that was just the beginning... once I was in the challenge group with Rachel and saw how motivating she was and encouraging, it made me want to stick with it. Not only was she awesome, but so were the other members in the group! We all posted sweaty selfies, shared recipes that we found, and cheered each other on! So when Rachel asked if there was anyone willing to co-coach the next round with her because she was making a HUGE move to Hawaii from South Carolina, I said, count me in! There ya go - that's the more motivating reason you were looking for, right?!
Why I Stick With It:
Five words... IT MAKES ME FEEL GREAT! Is it always easy? No... Is it worth it? YES! I'm losing the baby weight and then some and working on becoming a better me, not only physically, but emotionally. For myself, for my husband, for my children, and for everyone that has to deal with me ;)
